Synopsis: SILT is a one-act experimental play about strained relationships and what happens when people can't name the submerged tensions holding them apart. It's part argument, part ritual, and part wake. SILT was written by Gabby Preston during the protests & riots of the summer of 2020 as a way of expelling the after-images of the violence that we all witnessed during that time. Writing this play also helped them reckon with their grief and anger at all that couldn't be spoken, heard, or understood by all well-meaning, liberal, considerate white folks who say they want to be supportive but remain incapable of true solidarity. Contains lots (and lots!) of pistachios.
